GMDA’s Encroachment Drive on MG Road Resolves Key Issues

The Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) recently conducted a major drive to clear encroachments along MG Road. During this operation, a 1.25 km stretch of the service road was freed from illegal structures, addressing long-standing traffic congestion concerns and illegal hawkers in the area.

The service road, which had also been misused for unauthorized private parking, saw significant action. As part of the drive, 70 challans were issued for illegal parking, and the traffic police seized 43 vehicles.

This campaign was launched in response to complaints from residents of societies along MG Road, who had raised concerns about the growing problems caused by encroachments. GMDA officials conducted a thorough two-day survey before initiating the removal drive to ensure effective action.

The move marks a major step toward improving traffic flow and reclaiming public spaces for their intended use, ensuring a smoother and safer environment for commuters and residents alike.
