Batth should be returned to his parent post with the added charge of the planning wing, according to the government.

One of the two district town planners who was temporarily deputed to the headquarters to supervise the survey of illegal colonies across Haryana has been returned back to Gurugram with the twin responsibility of the district town and country planning department’s enforcement and planning wings (DTCP).

Prior to his temporary assignment to Chandigarh’s urban local bodies department, RS Batth, as DTP (enforcement), was in charge of issues involving Chintels Paradiso and NBCC Green View condominiums, as well as coordinating the proposed structural audit of five highrises in Gurugram.

After Batth’s transfer a week earlier, Sanjay Kumar, DTP (planning), was assigned to the enforcement wing. But, following an injury, Kumar was forced to go on medical leave, causing the government to reassign Batth to his parent role, with the added responsibility of the planning wing.

“Considering that now the official job including both planning and enforcement would be harmed,” DTCP director KM Pandurang stated in a recent order. “It is instructed that Batth join the office of DTP(E) and he shall also look after the work of DTP(P) until the joining of Kumar.” Batth was temporarily delegated to the HQ for assisting in the survey of unauthorized colonies across Haryana, as per his directive given last Tuesday. For the time being, Kumar has been assigned to oversee the activities of both the planning and enforcement wings.

Soon after his arrival on Tuesday, Batth convened a conference with officials from both wings, ordering them to fulfill all outstanding tasks as soon as possible. He also ordered the enforcement team to issue notifications to developers of illegal colonies and anyone who built-in licensed colonies without permission.

When questioned about the upcoming structural audit, the official stated he would contact the IIT-Roorkee team as soon as possible to accelerate the procedure.

“The department will give all necessary help in carrying out the audit.” On April 1, the team may pay a visit to the site and explain the structural audit process. “They’ll also tell us what their prices are for the job, as well as a schedule for completion,” Batth added.
