In a concerning incident at DLF New Town Heights, Sector-90, a portion of plaster fell from a flat, raising significant safety concerns among residents. Fortunately, no injuries were reported in this instance, but it has highlighted a recurring issue within the society.
The Department of Town and Country Planning Enforcement (DTPE) has taken serious note of these incidents, issuing a show-cause notice to DLF Limited. The notice demands an explanation from the builder within seven days and mandates the repair of all affected areas within 15 days.
The most recent incident occurred late Monday evening when plaster fell from the ceiling of a seventh-floor bedroom in Tower N. Luckily, the room was unoccupied at the time, preventing any potential injuries. However, this is not an isolated case—residents have reported multiple instances of plaster falling, particularly from balconies, posing a significant risk to the community.
DTPE official Manish Yadav confirmed that DLF has been notified and is required to respond within a week. The ongoing issues of structural safety in such residential societies emphasize the need for stringent quality control and timely maintenance.
Residents are now awaiting DLF’s response and the swift action required to ensure the safety and well-being of all occupants in New Town Heights.
