The Municipal Commissioner has ordered the preparation of a list of 500 major defaulters, and the Municipal Corporation will take action.

GMDA CEO and Municipal Commissioner PC Meena held a crucial meeting with officials. In Gurugram, the Municipal Corporation is gearing up to take action against major property tax defaulters. The Municipal Commissioner has issued orders to compile a list of the top 500 defaulters.

Those included in the list will be given a final chance to pay their property taxes. If the outstanding taxes are not cleared even after that, strict action will be taken against the defaulter.

During the property tax review on Friday, the Municipal Commissioner instructed his subordinate officers to prepare a list of the top 500 defaulters. These individuals will be urged to settle their property tax dues.

Failure to comply may lead to legal actions, including sealing the property and disconnecting water and sewerage connections through auctioning the property.

The Chief Executive Officer and Municipal Commissioner, PC Meena, held a crucial meeting with officials from both departments.

During the review of various services on the Integrated Command and Control Center dashboard, officials were provided with the necessary guidance.

While discussing the streetlight infrastructure, officials mentioned that there are 798 Centralized Control and Monitoring Systems (CCMS) installed in the municipal area, connected to 20,744 streetlights.

However, there is a need for an additional 2,000 CCMS and 15,000 new streetlights. Due to the inactivity of the CCMS, they are not linked to the GMDA’s Integrated Command and Control Center, which needs to be activated.

In response, the Municipal Commissioner directed the relevant officials to activate all CCMS within a week and establish a link with the Command and Control Center for online monitoring of streetlights.

Additionally, he emphasized the need to ensure that all areas of the city are well-lit by December 31 through a dedicated campaign.

Officials reported during the review of solid waste management that all vehicles involved in waste collection and disposal activities in Bandhwadi are now linked to the Command and Control Center.

These include door-to-door garbage collection vehicles, trucks transporting waste from secondary collection points to Bandhwadi, tractor-trolleys, sweeping machines, and vehicles used by the Rapid Action Force (RDF).

All these vehicles have GPS ensured, with their links monitored by the Command and Control Center.

In the meeting, officials also discussed the water supply situation. They mentioned that GMDA has installed meters on a total of 487 bulk water connections. Some of these meters are showing as offline on the dashboard.

In response, the CEO directed that meters that are not functioning properly should be fixed within 15 days. If any consumer fails to rectify the issue, appropriate penalties should be imposed as per regulations.

The meeting also included a review of environmental monitoring, drainage, and sewage. The CEO emphasized the need to rectify all systems related to these services in the next 15 days to enable online monitoring through the dashboard.
