The state government has designated new sectors in Sohna, Bhondsi, Farrukhnagar, and nearby regions according to the Gurgaon Master Plan 2031. However, illegal colonies in these areas are hindering the progress of these new sectors, according to DTCP officials.
Officials reveal that the culprits exploit gaps and create unauthorized colonies on valuable agricultural land, breaching the Haryana Development and Regulation of Urban Areas Act, 1975. Section 7A of the Act clearly prohibits registering the sale deed of a plot less than 1 acre without a no-objection certificate (NOC) from the DTCP.
Officials emphasized that breaking this Act is a serious offence, and it can lead to a jail term of up to 3 years. So, the department contacts the police to halt the creation of these illegal colonies by the culprits.
