In a significant move towards improving property identification accuracy and enhancing citizen convenience, the Municipal Corporation Gurugram is revolutionizing the property ID correction procedure. Property owners need not make rounds to the municipal office or attend camps; instead, municipal employees will directly visit households to rectify property IDs.
Door-to-Door Distribution of Property Tax Assessment Notices
To initiate this seamless process, the Municipal Corporation Gurugram has commenced the distribution of property tax assessment notices to all property holders within its jurisdiction. Certified employees from the designated agency are conducting door-to-door distribution of these assessment notices.
Cooperation Encouraged from RWA Representatives and Citizens
The corporation urges all Resident Welfare Association (RWA) representatives and citizens to collaborate fully with the visiting employees during this effort. They are requested to cross-reference their property details as provided in the assessment notices. Should any discrepancies arise in property data, individuals are advised to furnish accurate information along with supporting documents to the visiting personnel. Additionally, providing correct contact information like mobile numbers, WhatsApp numbers, and e-mail IDs is vital for rectifying property tax data.
Transition from Survey to Implementation
Previously, a comprehensive survey of all properties under the jurisdiction of Municipal Corporation Gurugram was carried out and the data was uploaded to the NDC portal. Utilizing this data, the distribution of assessment notices has now been initiated. The responsibility for this task lies with Simplex E-Solutions Private Limited agency, whose representatives are reaching out to property owners individually.
Empowering Property Owners for Data Accuracy
Property holders are urged to meticulously review the assessment notices and verify the correctness of the provided property data. Any inaccuracies should be promptly corrected by providing the accurate information and necessary documentation to the visiting employees. This proactive approach will not only ensure accurate property tax data but also eliminate the need for property owners to visit corporation offices.
Online Payment Options and Tax Regulations
Under the Haryana Municipal Corporation Act-1994, property tax is determined annually based on property categories such as vacant plots, residential and commercial units, industrial establishments, and more. Property owners are mandated to pay taxes each year, with varying rates based on property type. The government occasionally provides exemptions in property tax payments.
Property owners can conveniently pay taxes online by accessing their property data using the property ID on the ULB portal. Additionally, payment options include debit and credit cards as well as demand drafts through Citizen Facilitation Centers at the Municipal Corporation Gurugram offices. Delinquent property tax payments are subject to an 18% annual interest rate. Non-compliance could lead to sewerage and water disconnections, property sealing, and auctioning.
Gurugram’s municipal endeavors aim to leverage technology and efficient processes for the betterment of property owners’ experiences while promoting accurate taxation and revenue collection.
