The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) is taking a firm stance against drivers who violate traffic rules on the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway via Sohna Road. Stringent measures are being put in place to address these violations, and the NHAI has initiated preparations to ensure effective enforcement. With a focus on enhancing road safety and promoting responsible driving, the NHAI is committed to taking strict action against those who disregard traffic regulations on this vital expressway.
In a remarkable advancement in transportation technology, every vehicle traversing the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway is now being monitored by artificial intelligence (AI). This ground-breaking initiative aims to revolutionize road safety and optimize traffic management on one of India’s busiest and most crucial highways. Equipped with state-of-the-art AI-powered surveillance systems, a network of high-resolution cameras and sensors is deployed along the entire stretch of the expressway.
The advanced AI algorithms analyse real-time data to monitor vehicle movements, detect anomalies, and promptly respond to any potential incidents. This innovative AI-driven monitoring system ensures enhanced security, efficient traffic flow, and quicker response times to accidents or emergencies. With this cutting-edge technology, the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway is leading the way in creating a safer, more efficient, and seamlessly connected transportation infrastructure.
Ensuring Safety: Addressing High-Speed Vehicle Incidents on Roads
The Delhi-Mumbai Expressway, a critical route witnessing a daily influx of over 11,000 vehicles, predominantly comprising trucks and cars, is under close surveillance. However, it is important to note that two-wheelers, tractors, and autos are prohibited from operating on the expressway. Despite these regulations, instances of rule violation persist, particularly in Nuh, where individuals often bypass the restrictions by riding bikes. Moreover, some drivers resort to driving in the wrong direction to take shortcuts, while others exceed speed limits, with instances of cars exceeding 200 km/h reported by NHAI. To curb such infractions, NHAI has stationed marshals at every entry point, employing barricades to prevent unauthorized vehicles from accessing the expressway.
Efficient Traffic Monitoring and Management: State-of-the-Art Control Center and CCTV Installation on Delhi-Mumbai Expressway
The installation of CCTV cameras within a 75 km radius of the expressway has been successfully completed, according to an NHAI official. To oversee the entire expressway, a dedicated traffic management center has been established in Alipur, Sohna. This central hub will provide instant access to information spanning from Delhi to Mumbai with just a click. Additionally, sub-traffic management centers will be set up in Dausa (Rajasthan), Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, and Mumbai.
Mukesh Kumar Meena, the Project Director of the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway, stated that the traffic management system will commence operations in July. The control room will closely monitor the activities of vehicles, with a particular focus on identifying and addressing any violations of traffic rules by drivers.
