Building owners receive DTCP notice for violation

Roughly 50 buildings in approved colonies, like DLF 2 and 3, South City 1 and 2, Sushant Lok 1, and many others, were issued with notices for illegal development and unlawful commercial ventures by the town and Country Planning Department.

The government has instructed the owners of the properties to send their responses within a week on breaches, failing to Seal their property.

The department received regular complaints towards local residents who, after receiving government OCs and making modifications for commercial activities in the properties. Many residential buildings were reportedly operated by gyms, salons, showrooms, hospitals, educational institutions, and many others.

Most people also protested that in the neighborhood there were multiple multi-story PGs that affected the supply ratio of demand on many aspects, such as power, water, parking space.

Mr. R.S. Batth, district town planner (Enforcement), said, “The department is identifying residential buildings that have been violating standards, and action would be taken against them.” In residential buildings, no unauthorized commercial activity would be permitted.

He also said the DTCP director has specific orders for the planning and compliance wing officials to conduct surveys throughout the approved colonies to ensure that all commercial activities operating from the residential premises are closed as they are against the requirements.
